TV BRICS expands audience geography through partnership with Chile's Crónica Digital
The International Media Network is expanding its co-operation in the media sphere in Latin America. The first partner from Chile, the Crónica Digital portal, which provides information for Spanish-speaking people in many countries, has joined TV BRICS. The agreement will allow the parties to exchange content and create joint information products.
Chile's leading media outlet said it is interested in joint media projects with BRICS countries.
Anastasia Shishkalova, Head of International Projects of TV BRICS said that she was pleased by the interest in co-operation from a growing number of Latin American countries and singled out Chile as one of the main players in the region."For us, the co-operation agreement with TV BRICS is of great importance. This partnership allows us to expand ties between BRICS countries and Latin America, opens new information horizons for Chile, including through the agendas of countries that have not been prioritised so far, and sets the stage for common media projects"Juan Andres Lagos Member of the Board of Directors of Crónica Digital
"We are pleased to see the interest in co-operation from more and more Latin American countries. Chile is one of the key players in the region. We are particularly pleased to start our joint work in the year when Russia and Chile celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. We are convinced that partnership in the information sphere contributes to strengthening ties between the countries of the global South, creating the ground for joint work in a variety of areas"Anastasia Shishkalova Head of International Projects of TV BRICS
Crónica Digital has also created a special TV BRICS news section in Spanish. It presents the most relevant materials reflecting the agenda of the alliance countries.
Crónica Digital has been in existence since 2005 and covers major events in Chile, Latin America and the world. The portal co-operates with major news agencies such as Cuba's Prensa Latina and China's Xinhua News Agency. It has a correspondent office in Cuba. Crónica Digital has been part of the National Assembly for Human Rights since 2005.
In March, the TV BRICS launched the Spanish version of the Internet portal and the corresponding branch of the channel's Internet broadcasting. The focus of the news agenda is on developments in Spanish-speaking countries. The agreement with a leading Chilean media outlet will help facilitate the effective exchange of information between the BRICS countries and many countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
