The "One Belt, One Way" Initiative Allowed to Create More Than 240 Thousand Jobs
A Chinese economic initiative "One Belt, One Way" has allowed to create more than 240 thousand jobs in 24 countries participating in the project.
'So far Chinese companies have founded 82 zones of economic and trade cooperation in 24 participating countries, which allowed to create 240 thousand jobs,'says Yang Jiechi, Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China, according to the China Daily newspaper.
According to Yang Jiechi, more than 140 countries and international organizations have signed agreements on joint realization of the initiative.
The firstOne Belt, One Way forum was held in May, 2017 in Beijing. 29 heads of states and governments, as well as the heads of large international organizations took part in it. The second forum will also take place in the Chinese capital in April, 2019. And in December, at the G20 Summit in Argentina, the Chinese President Xi Jinping invited the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to participate in the Forum.
For reference: The initiative of the Chinese leaders "One Belt, One Way" has united the "Economic Belt of the Silk Way" and the "Sea Silk Way of the 21st Century" projects since September, 2013. It assumes conclusion of bilateral memorandums of cooperation with the countries located on Euroasiantransport routes along which "economic corridors of development" will be built.
