Effective cooperation – a single information space
In Vladivostok, within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum, a business dialogue between Russia and ASEAN countries was held. The meeting was attended by the representatives of establishment of Vietnam, Thailand, plenipotentiary extraordinary ambassadors of the ASEAN countries, representatives of Russian business and politics. Relations between the ASEAN countries and Russia are currently developing dynamically, and trade turnover increased by 35% last year. The promising areas of joint projects include energy, infrastructure construction, agriculture, engineering and technology, timber industry. As the participants of the dialogue noted, the number of joint projects in Russia, in particular, the Far East and South-East Asia, is constantly growing. In addition, the participants drew attention to the development of cooperation in the field of information and telecommunication technologies, media, information security, there is still something to work on.
The correspondent of the TV BRICS turned for comment to the Chairman of the Business Council "Russia –ASEAN" Ivan Polyakov:
"This is an area, which, in the opinion of the participants of the discussion, should be given a special attention, and the representative of Malaysia, the representative of the ASEAN business club, the Executive Director, who was present at the business dialogue, Jukhi Hong, proposed to consider the possibility of creating a single information platform, and we, as a Business Council for the exchange of contacts and projects, with the possibility of access of representatives of small and medium-sized businesses of the ASEAN countries to this database of projects, we, as the Business Council “Russia – ASEAN”, believe that this is quite an interesting idea, an interesting initiative. It is necessary to be strengthened with the cooperation in the field of media, between TV companies, media holdings, between various network resources that inform about the life and development of countries and regions. For example, we can mention a number of major projects undertaken by the company "SIBUR" in the Far East and on the territory of a number of countries in South-East Asia, which, in our opinion, of course, deserve greater coverage and more media attention, because these are positive projects focused on the development of high technologies, on the development of the manufacturing industry, petrochemical industry, on creating a large number of high-tech jobs. In the opinion of the participants of the discussion, such positive examples for some reason are not sufficiently covered."
As a model for establishing such constructive information cooperation, it is quite possible to name the channel and website of TV BRICS. Remember, the initiative to create a single information space of the BRICS countries was made by the Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2017 at the summit in China.
And that's what Ivan Polyakov told about this new project:
"Of course, this is one of the examples, which, in my opinion, can and should be, in a certain sense, indicative, reference, on searching ways to interface and interact in such a delicate area as media. Especially as we speak about work in a segment of non-political information. This is exactly the segment in which, as today's dialogue between Russia and ASEAN shows, representatives of business and the peoples of our countries are most interested. And there is a critical lack of information about countries, regions, projects that can be joined by more and more participants. And in this sense, I hope very much, TV BRICS, as a media project, of course, will be able to become such a platform and a conductor of the brightest and most reasonable ideas."
